What is a psychic child? Are you a proud or a worried parent? From time to time I am asked this and I always tell the stories of those I believe who have had the gift since childhood. One person is Mitchell Coombes. Mitchell is probably Australia’s most well know psychic.

At six he was introduced to Tassegraphy or the reading of tea leaves by his grandmother - and through this his intuition become clearer. Then in his early teens he moved to reading cards. He had a fascination for the psychic world. But at no point was he forced or actively encouraged by his family - but he was never discouraged. It was his decision. He knew it was in his blood and for the past 400 years every generation has had a psychic in the family.
I know psychics who get all excited and tell me they have a psychic child in the home. I can understand their excitement as any psychic parent would be the same. Artistic parents nurture their child artists. Actors nurture child actors. So I can understand a psychic mother nurturing her psychic child.
Another psychic who was nurtured since childhood is Amanda Rousetty.
But Psychic Medium Robert Reeves was different. He had no nurturing or family guidance about the psychic world. But he knew he was psychic and did his first training in his early teens. His parents let him be - in fact Robert is a person with his own mind regardless of what anyone says.
Mitchell Coombes says we are all have the gift of Second- Sight and we can all FEEL, SENSE and SEE energies. He grew up knowing he had a gift in a family who believed in all the six senses.
Nurturing a Psychic Child
I met a lady who pushed her son into this area. And from the outset I could see this poor kid doing readings to please his mother. Once he reached his later teens he stopped. I thought that was bit cruel - the same as any parent pushing their kids into something they had little talent for.
I don’t have a psychic child but the general feelings from psychics I know is to let them find their own way. Encouragement is great if the child wants it. And there are classes especially for children but I would check out the teacher very carefully to ensure that it’s more about nurturing a gift than trying to find a gift.
